Credits
Credits are the fuel that powers your Chief of Staff. Every chat, every routine, every research run, every image — they all use credits. Top up when you're running low and you never get cut off mid-task.
What it does for you
What uses credits:
- Chat messages and the work the Chief of Staff does to answer them
- Routines that run on a schedule — including the ones running while you sleep
- Image generation, video generation, web search, and deep research
What actually drives the bill:
- Conversation length is the biggest factor — a long chat re-reads its whole history on every message, so starting a fresh chat for a new topic is the single cheapest habit
- Big jobs have flat rates, and the biggest ones — deep research, video — show you a confirmation card with the cost before they run, so nothing expensive fires by surprise
- The model picker in chat shows each model's relative cost ($ to $$$$$) if you want to trade power for price
- Tap the ? next to the chat composer any time to see what things cost
Always know where you stand:
- Current Balance at the top of the Credits page, split into plan, bonus, and purchased credits
- Usage This Month groups spend by feature, and the itemized history shows exactly what used credits and when
- The app warns you when your balance runs low, and scheduled routines pause rather than overdraw — a runaway routine also auto-pauses before it can burn through your day
Top up when you need to:
- Top Up Credits takes you through a quick checkout — any member can buy, and the credits land in the workspace's shared pool
- Auto Top-Off (workspace owners) refills automatically when your balance drops below 200 credits — you pick the refill amount, and refills are discounted versus one-time buys
- You can also earn credits: finishing setup tasks and referring friends both pay bonus credits
How you use it
- Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Credits.
- Check your balance and Usage This Month to see what's been spent.
- Tap a package under Top Up Credits to add credits, or turn on Auto Top-Off to put it on autopilot.
- If something looks heavier than expected, the usage breakdown tells you which feature used the credits — and shorter, fresher chats are usually the fix.
If you only do one thing today: turn on Auto Top-Off. Routines run while you sleep, and the last thing you want is the Morning Briefing missing because the meter hit zero overnight.
