Messaging

Messaging puts your Chief of Staff where you already are. Connect one Telegram bot to your workspace and everyone on the team can message it from their phone, or @mention it in a group chat, and get an answer about your business.

It's the same Chief of Staff you use in the app — the same Brain, the same documents, the same memory. Just reachable while you're standing in line for coffee.

What it does for you

One bot, the whole team:

• The workspace connects one bot, and every member links their own Telegram to it
• Each person gets their own Chief of Staff — their own credits, their own memory, their own conversation thread. Two teammates asking the same bot different questions never see each other's answers
• Works in a group chat too: add the bot to your team's group and @mention it. Each person who's linked gets their own answer

The credential stays yours:

• You create the bot yourself in Telegram's @BotFather, so you own it and can revoke it any time
• One bot serves one workspace — a second workspace makes its own

Leaving the team turns it off automatically:

• If someone is removed from the workspace, the bot stops answering them — immediately, with nothing for you to remember to switch off
• Their entry stays visible on the Messaging page marked No longer on this workspace, so you can tidy it up when you like

Honest about what it can do:

• It reads, thinks, researches and drafts
• It does not send, post or buy from a text message. Anything like that gets queued for you to approve in the app

How you use it

Set the bot up once (one person does this):

1. In Telegram, message @BotFather and send /newbot. Give it any name and username you like.
2. Copy the token it sends back — just the 123456789:AAH… line, not the whole message.
3. Open Settings → Messaging in Marketing Secrets AI and paste it in.

Then everyone links their own Telegram:

1. Open Settings → Messaging.
2. Tap Link my Telegram. You'll get a short code.
3. Open the workspace bot in Telegram and send it /start followed by your code.
4. It replies "You're all set" — and that's it. Ask it anything.

To use it in a group: add the bot to the group, then @mention it with your question. Only people who've linked their own Telegram get an answer; everyone else's messages are ignored, quietly.

Good to know

• Your code is yours. Each person gets their own, it lasts 30 minutes, and it's used once. If it expires, tap Link my Telegram again.
• Only the person who set the bot up can disconnect it, because that turns it off for everyone. Anyone can unlink themselves at any time.
• One Telegram account, one person, per bot. If you try to link a Telegram account that a teammate already linked, it'll tell you — ask them to unlink first.
• If Telegram starts rejecting the bot token (usually because it was regenerated in @BotFather), the Messaging page says so, and whoever set it up pastes the new one.

Have your Chief of Staff send a Telegram message

Once the bot is set up, you can ask your Chief of Staff — in the app — to message a teammate through it:

"Tell Robin the Q3 numbers are in." "Ping the team group when the report is done." "Send Alex that summary on Telegram."

Name the person the way you'd say it out loud. It only reaches teammates who have linked their own Telegram, and it'll tell you who those are if it can't find the person you meant. Someone who's left the workspace can't be messaged this way.

To post into a group, the bot has to be in that group already. If it isn't, it says so rather than pretending it sent.

This delivers straight away — there's no draft step — so your Chief of Staff will tell you what it's about to send and to whom.

Not the same as the Telegram integration

There used to be a Telegram app in the Integrations catalog. It could only send — it had no way to receive a reply, so messaging it got you silence. It's no longer offered. Settings → Messaging is the one that works both ways.
